STUD SHEEP SALE.

A POVERTY BAY FLOCK. By Telograph.-Press Assn.—Copyright. Gisborne, Last Night. The largest sale of stud sheep ever held in Poverty Bay took place to-day on the occasion of the dispersal of Mr. J. C. Field's 'locks, the Homebush estate property having teen purchased by 'the Government for ■"oldier settlement. Buyers or their representatives were present from several districts in Kew Zealand, including Miistevton, Waiignnul, Aeiv Plymouth, and Victoria (Australia). Competition was fairly brisk throughout, but Nte prices were not as big as was expected. Tie sheep submitted to auction comprised 32,000 stud lioiiinoy Marsh and 100 stud Lincoln. The highest price realised was 110 gns., Paid by M. Murphy (Wanganul), for lhe Romney stud rami Eclipse. The same buyer also took the one shear stud Romney ram Renown at 105 gns. R. C. Murphy (Poverty Bay) purchased the Romney stud ram Symbol at 105 gns., and a stud ram hogget, a cire of Beckfield, at 101 gns. Prices Tanged from (all guineas): Romney ewes, with lambs 2 to 21; ewes (two shear), with lambs, 2iy« to 22; aged stud ewes, with lambs 2>4 to ":i'/ t ; stud Romney ewo hoggets, 3s to 25; stud Lincoln ewes, 2s to 8; Romney stud rams, 13 to 110; stud Romney ram hoggets, 91%' to 101; stud Lincoln rams 10 to 19; Kounay flock rams, 6 to 9.
