By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Melbourne, Oct. 21. The declining state of the hides and leather ■market, which has feen in operation for some months, continues. Since April light calf hides rave declined 74 per cent, and other sorts 27s to 55 per cent. Let.ther had fallen 16 to 19 per cent. This week rabbit skin sales showed a decline. Super winter sorts ranged from 3d to 29d, second winters 9d to 25d per lb. The wool sales were continued, and competition for the best classes of Merino was keener than on the opening day. Poorer classes were neglected, while scoured and crossbred met poor demand and they were mostly withdrawn.
