NO DEVELOPMENTS. RAILWAYMEN'S ATTITUDE. NO DECISION REACHED YET. By Telegrith.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Oct. 21, 5.6 p.m. London, Oct. 20. The railwaymen's conference has adjourned till to-morrow. No decision was reached regarding the strike.—Reuter Service. .. "PLAY THE GAME." LORD HAIG'S APPEAL. London, Oct. 20. It is estimated that 100,000 are already out of work in other industries. The National Council of the Independent Labor Party urgently requested the Labor Party to convene a special conference of affiliated bodies, together with the Trade Congress and co-opera-tive movement, as the Government's attitude conveys an aggressive challenge to the whole working class movement. London is placarded with LoTd Haig's appeal to the citizens and comrades in the war exhorting all to safeguard the people's welfare. He hoped that exservice men, without taking sides in the dispute, would* assist in carrying out the transport of the supply of food. The appeal concludes: "In remembrance of the sacrifice of our comrades in the war let Us keep together and play the game."—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
