HAMILTON STOCK SALE. The Farmers'. Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report:— At Hamilton 011 Thursday October 14th, we had a moderate yarding Of cattle and sheep. Cattle generally were easier, notwithstanding the Improved weather conditions, and many pens were passed in. Beef sold fairly well, prime cows making up to £lO 10s, lighter weights £ll 10s to £l4, fresh-conditioned cows made up to £8 7s fld for a medium frame, and up to £lO 3s for the best. Very few two-year cattle were yarded, and /most of tho yearling failed to reach owners' reserves. Yearling steers made up to £4 ss, heifers £4 15s. The sheep section showed a decline* and many pens of fat and forward sheep were passed. An even draft of 450 store i'oggets (one ear-mark) realised 27? 4d. Pip were in fair supply, and sold at fully, equal to last weok's rates. Baconers £5 10s to £7 12s, porkers £4 13s to £5 ss, slips £2 15s to £3 12s Gd, wcaners 28s to £2 17s, fresh dropped calves 5a to 12s. N.Z. LOAN REPORT. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Hawera branch, report as follows for the week ending 10th October, 1920 ; At Kakaramea on Monday we had a full yarding of all classes of stock. Bidding was fairly brisk, and we practically disposed of the whole yarding under the hammer. We quote: Store pigs to £2 17s, small do. to 38s, sow £7, fat and forward cows to £l3, fresh conditioned do. £7 9s to £8 15s, others at market value, empty heifers to £7 17s, yearling heifers (good quality) £lO 2s 6d, others to £5 9s, steeTs £3, Jersey bull 42 gns, dairy cows (best) £2l 5s to £23 10s, 2nd calvera to £l7 10s, springing heifers (best) to £22 10s, others to £l6, calved do. , to £l6 58. At Dltfcam on Wednesday we also had a full yarding. Competition was keen throughout, and a satisfactory sale resulted. We quote: Forward ewes 3Gs, fat shorn sheep 29s Id, forward cows to £9, medium do. to £7 3s, others at market value, empty heifers £6 15s to £8 14s, fat do. £lO 13s, yearling heifers to £5 9s, dairy cows (good) to £ 20 r others to £l6, springing heifers (good) to £l9 10s, others £l2* to £l6, calved do. £4 15s to £l9 10s. ' ! On Thursday, at Hawera, dairy cattle were again penned in large numbers, and practically the whole of these were sold at satisfactory prices for the vendors. We quote: Store pigs to £3 3s, weaners to 20s. forward cow 3 £[) 17s to £l2, fresh conditioned do, £6 15s to £8 15s,'others to £5, empty heifers £7 to £8 13s, yearling steers to £2 7s Gd, dairy cows to £2O, sprinping heifers (extra ctoice) to £3O 10s, good do. £l9 ss, others £lO to £l4. . On Friday we held our Hawera Bull Fair, and in spite of the wet weather the advertised number came forward. Jersey bull* were sought after, and others sold at market value. We quote: Pedigree Jersey 3-year bulls to 60 gns, 2-year do. 50gns, yearlings 20gns, grade maidens 20gns to 28gns, 3-year grades to 26% gns, Holstelns to 17gns, Shorthorns to 15gns, others at market value. On the same day we held our Waverley sale. We had a good entry, and good prices were obtained. We quoteA big line of store cows was sold at £9 Bs, others at £7 10a, forward cows to £lO 13s, fat ditto £l2 16s, fat empty heifers £8 4s, yearling heifers £4 ISs.
