£825 HIDDEN IN A BOX. By Ttleirinh.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. An old man named P. Maitland, aged 70 years, was found dead at a local boarding-house, where he had resided for 40 years. ( Among the old man's belongings was a box containing a considerable sum of money, including old Colonial Bank notes. The money included 301 sovereigns, 85 half-sovereigns, eight £lO notes, five £5 notes, 209 £1 notes, and eight 10s notes. The total amount hidden in the box was £825.
