LINER DUE TO-DAY.
MAMABI FROM ENGLAND. The Shaw, Savill liner Mamari, bringing imports from England, is due to 4frive at New Plymouth this morning. The vessel left Wellington at C.35 last night, and the New Plymouth harbormaster state 3 tlvdt she should berth about eleven o'clock this morning. After discharge here the Mamari will commence loading for England. Space for 52,000 freight carcases was originally allotted to the Taranaki Farmers' Meat Co., but this has been reduced to 10,000. In celebration of the arrival of the Mamari with the first shipment of general cargo direct from the United Kingdom to New Plymouth, the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce is holding a luncheon at the White Hart Hotel to-mor-row. Invitations have been issued to representatives of the various Chambers of Commerce in the province ftnd Wanganui, the editors of the leading papers, members of the Harbor Board, representatives of the various overseas shipping companies, etc. The visitors will be met at the eeoretary's office after the arrival of the morning train, and thence motored to the port, where they will be shown over the ship and afterwards taken by motor launch to Moturoa and shown the haibor development scheme.. Luncheon *lll commence at 1.30, and later the united Chambers of Taranaki will wait upon the representatives of the shipping companies for the purpose of making arrangements for the institution of a regular service between London and New Plymouth.
