For the ttird day of the Caulfleld Cup spring meeting the weather was bright, and there was enormous attendance. The Gwyn Nursery Handicap was won in good style by the uufancied Antarian, who finished fast and beat the Sydney colt Orion in the last fifty yards. The Caulfleld Cup was n great race. Paratoo made the running, but Eurythinio Was first into the straight, anfl won handsomely. The jockey (Dempsey) and tho horse had a great; reception. The winner is owned by Mr. Lee Steere, chairman of the "Westralian Turf Club, i Perth. Accrington, on tho rails, finished well In. second place. It was Dempsey'a third win in this race. Dempsey is only 21 years old. The winner wa3 trained by Holt, whose biggest success it was. Dempsey stated he had a good run, and there* was no interference.
