At the final class meeting for the present year of the Stratford branch of the Workers' Educational Association, held on Wednesday night, the members showed their appreciation of the lecturer, the Rev. J. G. Castle, of Hltiuiin. by presenting him with a pipe and pocket wallet. The class has now closed until March next, when the lectures will be resumed. Tenders are being invited by the architect, Mr. J. D. Healy, for the erection of ten cottages for the Stratford Borough Council. The cottages are to be erected under the provisions of the Housing Act. Owing to the unfavorable weather conditions, the Bachelors' Ball which was arranged to have been held in the Stanley Road School on Friday night, was postponed until Monday**night at S o'oh The Stratford School Committee netted £24 lis fid as i> result of the street sale held to-d .y, this result being regarded as very satisfactory. A good response was received to the appeal for goods and produce to sell, and everything was sold. The main stall was in the vacant shop in the municipal buildings, the use of which was kindly granted to the committee by Mr. E. G, Foster, the lessee.
