POSTAL PROBLEMS.
SOLUTION FOR DIFFERENT EXCHANGES, By Teleernph.—Press Asan —Copyright Received Oct. 15, 7.25 p.m. Madrid, Oct 14. The Postal Conference will probably last a further Bix weeks. The agenda includes two thousand proposition*, but the principal task is to re-adjust International postal rates owing to the extraordinary differences in exchanges in ■. countries -within the postal union, ' whereby the face values of stamps bear no relation to their money values. The Conference is endeavoring to find a solution by adopting the gold franc as a standard. By this means all international postages will be regulated thus ' equalising values. It is also proposed to raise all international postages to meet the increased cost of postal 'Services—Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.
