TOURNAMENT AT PALMERSTON. By Telegraph.—Press Association Palmerston N., Lust Sight. Before a large audience fit the Opera House, Ooorge Cook (12.12) beat Fritz Holland (11.4), hi the seventh round. , Tho fight was characterised hy much Influlilhifr. in which Holland, with more ringcrnft, tried to stall oft" tireless attacks hy his redoubtable, but less skilful opponent. In the first three rounds Holland led on points, lint he (lied under a constant battery of Jabbing blows, in which the heavier man forced hint all over the ring. In the sixth round Holland perceptibly tired, and in the seventh Cook continued forcing tactics and brought several smashing blows to the face, which eventually forced him helpless on to (he ropes, and the referee awarded the fight to Cook. Other contests resulted: Itiddlcweiplts, .T. Waller (ralmerston Xorth) 10.0, beat Cyril Knight (Fellding), 10.C* W. Davies (ralmerston Xorth) 11.7, beat Martin Lysnar (Walroa), 11.0. Featherweights: Noble Clinton (Palmerston Xorth), 8.4, threw in the towel to Fletcher Humphries, 9.4, after a lively scrap; B. O'Keefe ("Palmerston North), 9.10 heat Thomas (Wanganui), 10 4, after,a very fast and exciting battle, going to the' end of the sixth round.
