The concluding wool sale of the first Sydney eeries attracted a large attendance, hut, as previously, only better classes were in demand at late rates. The top price was 35% d. Cable Assn. N.Z. LOAN AND MERCANTILE REPORT. At Omraake on Monday, dairy cattle were again penned in large numbers. Competition was keen throughout, ar.'d satisfactory prices were obtained. We Quote: Medium store cows to £6 15s, empty heifers £6 15s to £B, yearling do. £4 Is, Jersey do. £8 10s, springing heifers (good) £l7 to £2O, others £lO to £ls, small store pigs 275. On Tuesday, at Manata, we Quote: Empty teifors £6 12s 8d to £8 10s, dairy cows (poor) £lO 15s to £l3, springing heifers to £l2. At Palmer Road on Fr,iday, we had a full yarding of choice dairy cattle, which met with a keen demand, and practically all were sold at :lp-top prices. We quote: Forward cows £8 14s to £l2 Bs, medium stores £5 10s to £7, Jersey cress yearling heifers £0 9s, empty heifers £5 3s, dairy cows (best) to £34 10s, others to £2l, springing heifers ' (best) £2O to £3O 10s, others to £l6 ss, grade Jersey bulls to £24, Shorthon.s £lO, sow and litter £lO.
HAMILTON STOCK MARKET. The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report :—At Hamilton on Thursday October 7th we bad a good average yarding of cattle and sheep, and although competition generally was not so keen as the week previous, practically everything was cleared Beef was again In strong demand, cows from lite Ruakura Farm imakii g Up to £1!) Ins, lighter weights from £l2 Ills to £l4 ss, medium weight bullocks from the West Coast realised £lO 7s Od, lighter sorts £l4 12s Cd. No store bullocks were yarded. Good frame empty cows as usual received attention, reaching £lO 7s lid for the best, smaller framed sorts from £0 10s, two-year heifers, empty, showed an improvement on late sales, realising up to £7 for the best; Inferior quality from £5 ss. Yearlings generally were easier, although a considerable amount of business- was done. Best heifers made £4, others from £.'! to £4, best steers £4 4s, inferior and small £2 15s to £3 On. Sleep were it: average numbers, and showed an Improvement on the previous week. Best ewes made £2 0s fid. others 34s upward. A small line of ewes and lambs realised £2 3s. Pigs were again In average supply, and advanced on last week's rates Ilacoiicrs made to £7 Ds, porkers £4 to £5 lfis, weaners 35s to £2 Ss, sow with young £l2 10s, fresli dropped calves to £2 Is.
