MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
CIVIL SITTING. The usual sitting of the New Plymouth Magistrate's Court for civil business was held yesterday, Mr. T. A. B. ilaiiey presiding. John A. Peattie (Mr. C. H. Croker) claimed irom Kvan Haine (Mr. R. 11, yuiiliam) the sum of £27 Is 9d for carpentering work done by plaintiff at defendant's request. Kvidence called was to the effect that I'eattie owned a farm at Tataraimaka and Haine secured an option to buy. Haine subsequently bought the property and boarded Peattie and an employee while they carried out the work.
