Constable Soden, a native of Huntingdon, who was wounded in an ambush, was awarded £2BOO. PATROL'S DESPERATE FIGHT. London, Oct. 10. A patrol of the Esses Regiment, in two lorries, was ambushed at Newcestown, in County Cork. A desperate fight followed. Early this morning Sinn Fein prisoners in Londonderry Gaol wrecked cellars, smashed windows and damaged property. Troops were called in and fired.
