FOUND UNCONSCIOUS.
-MISHAP TO ELDERLY COUPLE OVERCOME BY GAS. By Telegraph.—-Press Assn.—Copyright, Dunedin, Last Night. George Mackay, aged 60, a waterside worker, and his wife Mary, alr*> aged CO, were found in bed this morning at their residence at South Dunedin in an unconscious condition. The old couple lived alone, and their son, 011 visiting them, failed to get any response to his knocking. He thereupon got through a window at the back, and found his parents unconscious. There was a strong smell of ga« in tlie room, the window and door of which were closed. In turning off the gas before retiring one of them had apparently jolted back the tap a little. At 3 o'clock this afternoon Ml». Maokay was showing signs of returning cqnscioiifiness, but there was little change in Mr, Maekay's condition.
