DAVIS CUP POSSIBLES. ®alegrapix.—Pres3 Assn.—Copyright. Sydney, Oct. 9. Tiie Daily Telegraph, reviewing the Davis Cup possibilities, says Brookes and Patterson are certainties. Aulerson previously seemed the only possibility from New South Wales, hut his form seemed to preclude him. Ollivler was a Teraote possibility. Brookes requested that he should play In the Victorian championships, but this Is regarded as a sop to New Zealand, as Victoria is likely to supply all the personnel. O'Hara Wood and the youthful Jack Hawkes are favored. The latter twice decisively defeated Brookes, and, 1 I with hi 3 brother, beat Brookes.and Wood in doubles.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. U.S. TEAM WEAKENED. Received Oct. 10, 5.5 p.m. New York, Oct. 9. Richard Williams has resigned from tl'e Davis Cup team owing to business pressure.
