SHOW DATES.

EGMONT AND TARANAKI. At a meeting of the Egmont A. and P. Show Executive on Wednesday, the president (Mr. E. Washer) reported that the committee appointed for the purpose had visited New Plymouth, and had interviewed the representatives of the Taranaki A. and P. Association with regard to show dates. Two or three days after they returned Mr. Grant rang up and asked for an assurance, if New Plymouth agreed to take the second week in March for the coming show, that Hawera would consent to a conference of the two bodies before fixing the dates for the show the following year and pass a resolution along these lines. He (Mr. Washer) replied that he could not givo a positive answer, but thought his association would agree to this. _ .They had received no official information of wha/ New Plymouth had done, but it had been reported in the Pres9 that it had passed a similar resolution. He thought there would be no harm in doing as New Plymouth desired. It would not bind them in any way. If tho feelings of the New Plymouth people bad been hurt he was very sorry. When they fixed the Hawera dates they thought they were doing New Plymouth a good turn, and he still thought they were. On the motion of Mr. Washer, seconded by Mr. Campbell, it wfes decided to agree to the conference before the 1922 show dates are fixed. Mr. Campbell said they had no feeling against New Plymouth. On the other hand, they desired to help them, and it actually would be better for New Plymouth to follow Hawera's dates. Mr. Tonka remarked that the New Plymouth Association considered that theirs was a metropolitan association, and that they should have the first say. They knew the attitude New Plymouth took up, and even if a conference was held and Now Plymouth said it wanted certain dates that would be the end of it. The president disagreed with this -Star.
