It was decided to issue another and more complete guide to the town and district. The Taxi 'Proprietors' 'Association wrote offering to subsidise the guide by taking two or more pages of advertisements and 250 copies of the guide. Tho association desired, in arranging for motors in connection with trips, that the association be consulted. — A lib* committee was appointed to confer with the association. Ine question of the re-appointment of the secretary and retention of the pros* ent central office was also considered, and the chairjjjan. and Mr. Cruickshftsk were authorised to make a new arrangement with Mr. Collia. It was reported that the flnaicial out* look was satisfactory. It was new* nary to collect last year's and the cur* rent year's subscriptions in order to qualify for the subsidies. Mr. Daviw offered to help in the collections as hj« had done the year before last, and th» offer was accepted with thanks. . The hope was expressed that the pub* lid would take more interest in the affairs of the League than it had of late, for the League had done good work in the past, and was capable of doing better in the future. Whilst it was unnecessary now to "boost" the towß in ' ( order to attract holiday-makers iaA ' tourists, as accommodation could not be found for all those that applied, the League cduld do useful work in looking ■' after those who did come, and in «n----dcavoring to induce people from outside to settle in New Plymouth. ,
