O.G.A. MART DAY.

JAM AND PICKLE S^ALL. The list of jams, jellies, pickles and sauces at the mart to be held next Saturday is a most attractive one, as each name represents a home-made delicacy. In the early part of the day there will be orderly row 3 of marmalade, apricot, black currant, cape gooseberry, English gooseberry, and English plum jams, guava jelly, quince preserve, lemon honey, and mince-meat, quite a regiment of them. These will be officered by tall, slim bottles of fruit chutney, onion pickle, apple sauce (hot stuff), and marrow pickle, but it is confidently expected that later in the day the ranks will be broken and the regiment completely wiped out by patrons of the mart. The recruiting officers, Mrs. Frank Wilson and the Misses McKellar and A. Wilson, will be glad to increase the size of the regiment either on Friday evening, at the Workers' Social Hall, or on Saturday morning. . PLAN OF THE BOARDING-HOUSE. On Saturday there will he on view in Devon Street a large plan,of the proposed boarding-house which is so badly needed at the Girls' High School. Mr. T. H. Bates has very kindly dra\vn and moulded the plan for the Old Girls' Association, and no doubt it will prove a source of great interest to the general public. The necessity for increased boarding accommodation at the Girls' High School, lias been brought prominently before the public of late, and the Old Uirls have been able to bring forward convincing facts and figures in support of their appeal for funds. Of the good work done by the school nothing need be said, for what mora eloquent testimony could there be than the keenness and' determination of old pupils to secure for others tha benefits which they enjoyed. The plan of the boardinghouse will afford an excellent opportunity of showing practical sympathy with the Old Girls' aims, as it is hoped to have it outlined with coins. A lucky gollywog on the souvenir stall carries as a prize a gold brooch, which has been donated to the Old : Girls.
