Butter.—Average price English is '£J3 •■ lis; Irish, very small supply, £33 15s, i £24. Prioe Government butter inoniaad .' as from October 4, £l6 16s whohvtale and 3s 4d retail. < Cheese—Demand is slow for English at £8 16s, £9 (is; Canadian, on spot, sales slow at £7 18s, £8 Es for white, ' £8 3s, £8 us colored. Quotations, c.i.f., are £8 2s, £8 3a, but small business doing. , Hemp.—Manila market quiet and steady at last quotations. "J" grade, August-October shipment, sold £6O 10s, New Zealand market dull, no transactions reported, sellers asking up to £55 for high-points, spot, £53, fair; August-October shipment, £54, £sl respectively. Honey.—Market quiet: Small private eales have been made this week of fine,, quality at 100?; inferior grade is not in demand. Nominal value is 80s, 90s. ■ Wool sales have closed. . Attendance throughout only moderate and competition hesitating. Only about one-hall of catalogued quantities sold «&d tendency has been downwards.
