ENGINE-DK'IVERS AND FIREMEN. "CONSLDIDRABLE UNREST." _ A New Zealand Times reporter was informed that there is considerable unrest amongst some members of the Locomotive Engineers, Firemen and Cleaners' Association and that some disturbing rumors are in circulation. It is stated that ever since the pronouncement of the special Commission appointed to consider the grievances of the association named—ami which also heard and determined on, the complaints of the first and second divisions—dissatisfaction has been expressed by same of its members. There has been'some talk of an ultimatum being sent to the department, hut no definite steps in this direction have been taken. Prom inquiries made it was gleaned that the matter is looked upon as being purely a sectional one, and tha.t no support to any proposal for extreme measures will be forthcoming from any other branch of the service. "The matters in dispute have been laid before an independent tribunal," said an official of one of the unions, "and a decision arrived at. Under the circumstances there must be no pin-prick-ing; adhere loyally to any decision arrived at. As wc expected the department to adhere loyally, so we in turn should abide by the agreement entered into." j
