Ae a result of the watersiders refusing to work overtime on oversea vessels, the wool sales will probably be abandoned. The racing mare Ardnaree broke a leg in the owner's paddoek, and was e destroyed. The daily newspapers have increased their prices to twopence. Melbourne, Oct. 3. Under instructions from the Federal Council of the Seamen's Union, Sydney, all members of the Victorian branch have been directed to leave vessels on Monday and attend a s£op-work meeting. The same instructions have been issued in all the States. Although no reasons have been given, a matter of grave urgency affecting tlie union must have" arisen to prcoke such unusual action. , Sydney, Oct. 3. An aerial company of Sydney is inaugurating a service between Sydney and Melbourne with an air yacht, fitted with a cabin capable of carrying ten passengers on «i five hundred miles nonstop flight. !
