POLISH-LITHUANIA DISPUTE.
COMMISSION TO SETTLE IT. By Telegraph.—Press Ass') Copyright. London, Sept. 29. A commission under the auspices of the League of Nations is going to Suwalki in an effort,to settle the PolishLithuanian conflict. Colonel Chardignay, of France, has been appointed president, Major Keenan represents Britain, and Captain Yainanaki Japan! The Italian and Spanish representatives have not yet been appointed. , The first duty of the commission will be to.take the necessary steps for the prevention of further hostilities. • They will be empowered to recommend any military dispositions by the two Governments for the avoidance of a collision. As soon as the Lithuanians have obtained guarantees from the Bolsheviks and all Red troops have been evacuated from Lithuanian territory, it will be the duty of the commission to enforce neutrality in the disputed area. This is the first occasion on which the League of Nations lias actually intervened in a dispute between two nations. —-Reuter.
