SALE OF AN ESTATE.
NO ANSWER TO CRITICISM. (By Wire.—Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, Last Night. Statements made in New Plymouth about three months ago regarding the Government's purchase of an estate in the Wairarapa were mentioned again in the House' to-day by Mr. S. G. Smith (Taranaki), who said that the Minister for Lands had promised a full statement on the subject. The Hon. D. H. Guthrie replied that he had looked up the matter, but had not got the papers with him. If he had known that question was going to be asked he would have had them ready.
