NEW ZEALAND MEAT.
DISTRIBUTED IN SCOTLAND. By Ttlegrapb.—-Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. t The Prime Minister was recently askfd in the House of Representatives Whether his attention had been drawn to an article published by Andrew P. Melville, of Fordell, in which that gentleman stated that he had authentic information from Scotland to the effect that New Zealand beef and mutton was not procurable in Glasgow, Greenoch, and gome other parts of Scotland. Mr. Massey was also asked whether he would make inquiries in order to ascertain the position. The High Commissioner was accordingly cabled to for information, and he has now replied that tho Ministry of Food states that there is now, and has been for some time past, stocks of New Zealand meat available in Scotland. It is further pointed out that all New Zealand meat is placed in the hands of nominated agents, and the distribution is carried out on the same lines, and through the same trade channels as existed when most meat was privately owned.
