LAWN TENNIS.
STRATFORD CLUB. The first annual meeting of the S,tratford Tennis Club was held on Wednesday evening, the president, Mr. B. G. Jamieaon, presiding over an attendance of 23 members. The annual report stated that good progress had been made during tho year, but the season had been marred to a. great extent by unfavorable weather. Tho pourts at first were not all that could he desired, but were improved later In tho season. Six Inler-club matches were played during the season, only one of which was won by Stratford. During the winter months a ball and several dances had been held witH great success. The balance-sheet showed that the assets exceeded the liabilities by £49. The receipts amounted to £l2l, and the expenditure to £ll6, leaving a credit balance of £5. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Officers for the ensuing ypar were elected rs follows: President, Mr. F. H. Musters; committee, Misses Nash, Anderson and Cameron, and Messrs. P. N. Silk, \V. A. Macway, H. Chadwiek, and R. 0. Jamleson; honorary secretary, Mr. D. S. Cameron; honorary treasurer, Mr. D. Sullivan; auditor, Mr. J. Nixon; match sub-poiiwiiiUee, Messes. R, Curtis, Chadwiek and Mackay. On tire motion of Miss Cameron, seconded by Miss Beech, it was decided to increase the subscription for ladies to 15s per annum. I Twenty-three new members were elected, bringing the membership to the vicinity of l DO. It was decided to leave the fixing of a date for opening the season lo the incoming committee.
