PORT PIRIE'S CARGO.
meat from three centres. The cargo of frown meat for the liner Port Pirie, now loading at New Plymouth, is being drawn from as far south as Patea. An allotment of 2000 freight carcases lias been made to the work® there, and the small steamer Waverley is due at New Plymouth thii morning with the cargo. The Waverley will be brought alongside the Port Pirie, and the meat will be loaded direct into th# liner. The transport of meat from the Waitara_ works by means of barges is proving quite satisfactory, and the loadi»V of the vessel is proceeding apace from the railway vans on the tfharf ; and the tenders on the seaward side, g which probably constitutes a new departure in the matter of shipping cargoes in New Zealand. The vessel is being worked tili 10 p.m. daily! Intermittent rain has interfered somewhat with operations.
