DONOGHUE RIDES FOR THE KING. By Telograph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Sept. 26. Donoghue, in 1921, though mainly at Lord Derby's disposal, ridqs the King's horses. His Majesty ha 3 the first .call,—Aus.-N Z. Cable Assii, t TURF TOPICS. Sir R. W. B. Jardine had done better than any other owner in England this season up to July 30, his horses having won 21 races of the total value of £16,234. He was also first among the breeders, with £14,587, the outcome of 18 w!ib by 10 different horses. A little while ago the Union Club, which controls racing in Germany, decided that no horse owned by an Englishman should be allowed to take part in races in Germany as long as the bun under which German owners had been placed in England was not withdrawn. That decision is unlikely to worry English owners, as they certainly will not be anxious to race in Germany now .or in the future. ' Among successful English trainers, A. Taylor was going strongly up to (he end of July, his figures for the first four months of the current season reading 15 winners of 23 races of the total value of £20,903. P. P.;Gilpin, with £18,762, was nearest him in stakes, that amount being the result of 13 wins by nine different horses. In respect of number of races won, M. D. Peacock was leading with 36, and J. R, Renwick jvas next with 34, the prize-money credited theim being respectively £8735 and £6286. Renwick had won with 22 different horses.
