The coal tribunal has issued its award, which grants an all round increase in adults' wges of 17J per cent, and an increase for boys and youths of 20 per cent. It fixes the maximum day wage at 16s 6d. ..' Further action in which Mr. W. A, Holman (ex-Premier) is claiming £SOOO from the Tweed Daily newspaper has been settled, the newspaper-withdrawing its imputations, and donating a sum to hospital funds.
