THE "DAYLIGHT" EXPRESS.

DETAILS NOT CONCLUDED. A statement was made by the Minister of Railways some weeks ago that the department hoped shortly to introduce a regular "daylight" express service between Auckland and Wellington. There is no reference to the matter in the Railways Statement, presented to the House of Representatives, and upon inquiry being made Mr. Massey explained that he was not yet able to announce any proposals for the reorganisation of the Main Trunk service. He said the matter was still under consideration by departmental officers, and no details had yet been finally decided.
