Potatoes, £l4 10s to £ls Onions, £27. , NEWTON KING, LTD. Newton King, Ltd. report:— ; At Walnnkniho a very suoeessful horse fair was conducted by Messrs. Newton King Ltd. In their Wniwnicaiho saleyards on Thursday, llilh. inst. Kuyers attended In strong force from all parts of the district, and in consequence the offering of good horses did not satisfy the demand. Of 70 horses submitted, (he majority changed hands. Unbrokcns were few In number, but those submitted, which were mostly two-year-olds, wore eagerly sought after. Heavy sorts made up to £34, lighter £9 5s to £lB. In the draught section (broken) competition was very keen. Full draughts £35 to £45, half to threequarter draughts £2O to £39 10s. A consignment from Feilding, consisting of milk carters and good all round harness horses sold under spirited bidding at prices ranging fro ™ £l(i to £34. The yarding contained some* very good hack and light harness horses, and the demand for these was exceedingly brisk. Best classes.sold to £25 10s, others included in which were onany poor conditioned and aged ditto, £lO to £2ll. -Some good stamps of diacks were offered, (lie best of these selling from £l2 to £l9, the bulk of them at prices ranging from £5 lo £9.
