IMMIGRANTS ARRIVE.
MANY DOMESTICS INCLUDED. LARGE NUMBEP OF FARMERS. A large number of immigrants from Britain readied Auckland by the steamer Athenic, which left Southampton on July 29. The total number of 1 passengers carried by the vessel was U7S, including 248 men, 300 women, 63 boys and 59 girls. ' The immigrants, wlio dumber 490, are J mostly of tho nominated claw, there being many women, chiefly domestics. There are only a few for Auckland, * ''' majority being bound for Southern centres. ; The secretary for iminigraiion, Mr. H. D Thomson, met the new arrivals on board the steamer. Representatives of.
