Although the miners' executive refused to separate the two demands (wages and the price of coal), the miners generally do not attach serious importance to the demands for a reduction of 14s 2d in the pric; of domestic coal. Mr. Spencer, a trustee of the Derbyshire Miners' Association, declares it ia illogical to ask for increased wages arJ a reduction in the price of coal.
