WAR TROPHIES.
QUESTION OF DISTRIBUTION. {By Wire/—Parfiamentarv P.eporter.) Wellington, Last Night. A question regarding the distribution of war trophies was asked in the House by Mr. J. R. Hamilton (Awarna), who wished to know whether, upon the committee to which the work of allocation had been handed over, every electorate would have representation. He told the Minister of Defence, in effect, that the people of the electorate did not know what arrangements were being made to give them representation, and they saw ptfaftr districts getting trophies.; The Minister (Sir R. Heaton Rhodes) raptied that the committee comprised the mayors of cities, the chairmen of connty councils and road boards, a representative of the R-SA, and the military officer in charge of the distriet or sub-district. So far as any , ireposal to include members of Parliament in the personnel of the committee was ooneerned, he thought .that member* would be glad to be relieved ff the .responsibility of taking part in the deliberations of bodies which had •> weigh the claims of one part of fte district against the claims of another.
