BENNETT.—In loving remembrance of Rifleman Harold E. E. Bennett, who was killed in action. September 15, 1916. In a distant land he lies, At rest in a soldier's grave; His battle fought, his name enrolled On the scroll of the deathless brave. A lonely firave In a far-off land. Bennett, N.Z.R.8., killed in action at the Somme, September 35, 1910. POR HIS COUNTRY'S SAKE. My dear son is sleeping his last long sleep. In a grave we may never see, May some gentle hand in that distant land, Lay down a Rower for me. Ha sleep besides his comrades, In a hallowed grave unknown, But his name Is written in letters of love On our hearts he left at home. Inserted by his loving father, slsterß, and! brothers.
