Faulkner, reviewing the English team, expects that England will retain the "ashes," but criticises the fielding, especially the outfield. The bowling is doubtful. Though Parkin is the most uncomfortable bowler, he Is far below Barnes. After his first matches his slows become expensive. Douglas will have to bear the brunt of the attack Wilson's length is likely to result in stone-wall batting, and many a long day's fielding. Hobbs, Hearne, Ilendren, Russell, and Woollcy are at top form, but their best is needed, as Beldam lias England had a greater tall.— United Service. PLAY IN ENGLAND.
