' Sir William Herries replieit: Negotiations are at present proceeding betwteuy l the Admiralty and the Marine Department with respect to the completion of the survey of the New Zealand ooMt, and it is hoped that ihey will be aqpn completed. As Tegards the Verooiea,, this vessel, so far as the Government' is aware, is not a survey ship, and to, any case she may not be suitable for the work.
