The Marriage Amendment ( Bill is awaiting consideration "of the now clause added by the Legislative Council. Some discussion on this subject may he expected. The Military Service Amendment Bill and the Master and Apprentice Amend-S 4; ment Bill are regarded with great dw- '"'< pleasure by the Labor Party, and are to ' be resisted in committee. The Immigration Restriction Bill has not yet received its seeonfl reading, which will be taken this week. Tiien there is\the Licensing Amerfd'' ment Bill, dealing with the transfer of licenses. Mr. MeCallum and Mr. Lyv mir are lioth threatening to move amendments opening up the general' licensing question when this Bill reaches committee. If they do, the Bill may be lost altogether. The Civil List Bill, dealing With .members' salaries, is awaiting the committee stage. It will not be reached iratil the recently-appointed committee of members hart reported upon'it The Standard Time Bill, proposing to advance the clock half an hour, has been on tlie order paper' since early )n the session. Members are predicting that it will not make further progress. Another Bill that is awaiting its second reading is Mr. Hunter's Gaming ' Amendment Bill, proposing to increase the number of totalisator permit* in favor of country districts. Mr. Hunter ' probably could get a majority to sup- ';'' port his Bill if he could reach a divl- ' sion.-mit the opposition to this Bill will be strong enough to occupy much time, and the Governman't mav not be willing - to provide the time now that the busy end of the session has been reached.' The Railways Statement is to come down this week, and the Railwar Estimates will be taken on Friday night next. The Government hopes to complete the Estimates on that night.,
