There has been an astonishing sequel to the rocent revelations concerning the Daily Herald and. its alleged supoprt by the Bolsheviks. Tiie Daily Herald announces tluit Mr. Francis Mcwnell, one of its directors, received £75,000 from the Bolshcvji;n during his visit to Russia in 191(1, and he still holds this money, which the Daily Herald asks its readers if the newspaper may accept. If the money fs refused it will be necessary to double the price of the newspaper. Trade Union shareholders have also been consulted as to whether the £75,000 should be accepted.—Ans.-N.55.
