By Telegraph.—Press Assn Copyright. Mr. Cook has announced that on account of the extension of the loan, the Budget has been postponed till next Thursday. In the House of Representatives, Mr. Making stated that mills were closing in South Australia because no wheat was available for gristing. Mr. Hughes explained that he was negotiating for the purchase of 300,000 tons of next harvest, of which 2(50,000 woold be sold as flour gristed in Australia. Adelaide's supply depended on this deal. In the Senate, Mr. Milieu announced that the Commonwealth Government's timber deal with Queensland would save the Government £714,000. Mr. Ball (Nationalist), who, with Mr. O'Brien (Labor) represents Murray, New South Wales, is willing to accept Mr. Corey's suggestion that both resign and thus enable a fresh election to be held for the three vacancies, provided the Government finances the election.—Aus.N.Z.
