In the first, round of the match between ' Dempsey and Miske. the latter hooked his left to the head and danced round. Then Dempaey landed 4 right and left, and two rights to the head, and exchanged body punches. Dempsey and Miske then rushed into a clinch, and Dempsey landed a left l hook on the break and floored Miske with the right. Miske took the count for Ave. In round throe, Dempsey danced round and hooked a hard right to the body. Miske landed a left to the jaw, and then Dempsey swung his right, knocking Miske down. Three hard smashes retained the championship for Dempsey. The end nearly came in the flrgt round, when Dempsey drove a "pile-driver" under the heart, and Mlsko'g groan was heard all over the ring. He fell Into a clinch to nave himself, and tenaciously clung to Dempsey whilo the referee tried to pry them loose. He never fully recovered, and showed he was a badly hurt man. Miske went down the first time in the second round, when Dempsey crashed another Into him, hurting his ribs. As the patr met in the third round, Miske shifted his position, and surprised the champion with a terrific left hook to the jaw, but Dempsey got in a similar blow at once, and Wfsko colapsed. Miske Tosje at~the count of nine, and gazed dazedly over the throng. Dempsey measured the distance and crashed a blow over the left shoulder. The chajtencer made an effort to block, and dropped In his tracks. The report that a rib was broken is unfunded, Miske has a rib badly bruised, a jaw sore, and a terrific headache, but otlmvise is none the worse. ! The end c.-ioio in a minute and thirteen seconds.
