REPATRIATION.
NEW PLYMOUTH COMMITTEE. A meeting of the New Plymouth Repatriation Committee was held last evening. Present: Messrs. C. H. Weston (chairman), W. J. Chaney, F. W. Okey, T. Furlong, C. Carter, R. J. Clarke, T. 0. List, (JEL It. Cattley, F. Hartnell, J. R. Rowlands, and the secretary (Mr. A. S. Allen). The executive reported paying retaining training subsidies to two men, I'ontinuing the subsidy of a trainee from the South Island, and granting four furniture loans of sums ranging from £2O to' £7s.—Action confirmed. The payment of a retained subsidy was authorised. The following furniture loans were granted: Six of £7o each, one of £SO, one of £3O, and another of £25. The secretary reported the repayment of a loan of £SO. The payment of the University fees of an applicant was agreed to, as was an allowance to a student to complete his course at the New Plymouth Technical School. Au application for a business loan of £3OO was refused.
