The New York World's Washington correspondent says that according to despatches from Tokio it is understood that Premier Hara, recently having vindicated his position respecting the suffrage question, is now prepared to resign. Three men prominently mentioned as possible successors are Makino, Kato, and Goto. ' liato is considered the likeliest. Professor Kemp played the piano continuously for 110 hours, beating the world's record held by a New Zealander. A locomotive at Bordeaux (Franco) ran off tjie track and exploded, killing eleven workmen and badly injuring twelve others. The engine was blown to pieces. The accident was due to the sudden entry of cold water into an overheated boiler.
