STATE LOTTERIES.
NEW SOUTH WALES SCHEME. MONEY FOR LOCAL LOANS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Sept. 5, 5.5 p.m. Sydney, Sept. 5. The Treasurer is considering a scheme for State lotteries to raise money for local loans. The consultations will be similar to Tattersall's prizes, and will be paid in Treasury bonds bearing interest at six per cent., payable at ten years. Each consultation will be based on 100,000 shares at ss, and will be conducted without recourse to horse-racing. The first prize will be £560j3, the second £2OOO, and the third £IOOO. In addition to its percentage as promoter, which is computed at £200,000 yearly, the Government, by paying prizes in bonds, will obtain from subscribers a loan up to £1,000,000 annually.—Aus.N.Z.
