WHANGAREI HARBOR. j JBy Telegraph.—Press Association. Whangarei, Sept. 3. The ratepayers of the Whangarei harbor district carried a proposal to raise a loan of £120,000 for harbor improvements. The voting was 732 for and 279 against. WANGANUI DIVORCE CASE. Wellington, September 3. Before the Chief Justice to-day Mrs. C. E. Mackay, of Wanganui, was granted a divorce from her husband. The case was heard in camera. AUCKLAND GAS~"CUT." Auckland, Sept. 3. The severe curtailment of the gas pressure has seriously affected various industries depending on that commodity for power or heat. Restaurants mostly served everything cold to-day, including drinks. Several announced that they would be closing until the gas supply was back to normal.
