There were fair supplies In the various departments of (at stock at Burnside to-day. Tho values realised were coed, prime beef selling at advanced rates, while the high rates lately ruling for pip were fully maintained. It is expected that there will be an ample supply of fat stock to see the trade through the present season. Tat Cattle: A medium yarding of mljed quality. The total number offered was 163. At the opening of the sale prices were 15s to 20s a head in advance of last week's rales, and prices were, if anything, firmer towards the close. Extra prime heavy bullocks realised up to £33 10s; prime bullocks, £2l to £29; medium bullocks, £lB to £22; light bullocks, £ls to £l7 10s; extra prime cows and heifers, £24 ss; prime, £lB to £2O; medium, £l4 10s to £l6 10s; old and inferior, £lO to £l2 10s. Store cattle were ift small supply, hut of the class yarded there were quite sufficient for requirements. There were very few sales effected, and prices were practically nominal at near to last week's quotations. Sheep: A fair yarding of medium quality, a total of 2203 head being offered for sale. Very few prime heavy-weight sheep were sent forward. Competition at the opening of the sale was fairly good at prices on a par with, last week's rates, but towards tho close of ihe sale values became a shade lower. Prime wethers realised 51s 3d to 58s; medium, 42s to 48s 6d; lifflit and unfinished sorts, 36s upwards. Prime ewes realised 41s 8d to 50n; medium, 35s to 3fls 6d; light and aged,- from 25s itrnvards. Only 45 hoggets were penned, and - quality was not ■ good. The prices ieai''f' nere from 25s to 39s a- head. Tigs i good yarding was offered, the greate portion being baconers. Handy porl#n n-ere in short supply. For this class the 'jmand was very keen, realising from Is 2d to Is 3d per lb. There was also good competition for baconers, excellent prices being obtained at from Is Id to Is 2d per lb.
