ENOUGH FOR T&S MONTH, SALE AT PRESENT PRICE. (By Wire.—Parliamentary Reporter.} Wellington, Last Night. Complaints made regarding the »hortope of butter were mentioned in the House of Representatives by-Mr. McGalium (Wairaul. The fancy prices that were being paid to the producers for butter by the British Government, said Mr. McCallum, were having the effect of cutting off »upplies from the local market. Would '•the Prime Minister state what butter ivas available for consumption wlthir. Xi'\r Zealand, and what was the priee! The Prime Minister replied that he had received one or two complaints oa the subject. The Director-General bi Agriculture had reported to him only a few days ago that there appeared to bo enough butter in the stores to supply the local market until the end Of th's month. The local price would not be increased until the supplies in the store* were exhausted. A member: "And what about freab supplies 1" Mr. Massey. "That is,another story."
