QUESTIONS IN PARLIAMENT.

INDUSTRIAL INSURANCE. • , CONTROL OF NOXIOUS WEEDS. 1 By feleeraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. In the House of Representatives this afternoon, replying to questions, Ministers gave the following amongst other answers:— .' ~ That definite proposals are to be included in the Finance Bill which will enable the Government to invest sinkingfunds in the purchase of war bonds, so that people with small means may not suffer great loss by being compelled to sell at big discounts. That the cost of i transporting the stuff; of the Governor-General elect from Great Britain to New, Zealand is not borne by the Government and the people of New Zealand. That the question of the location of the School of Forestry ia still under the consideration of the Government. That a Bill is now being prepared dealing, with the question of industrial insurance. The Bill will deal with the question of children's insurance, and will provide such safeguards against exploitation as may be necessary. „ , That the question of enabling the President of the Arbitration Court to devote his whole time to the work of that Court is being considered. That legislation will bo submitted to Parliament shortly in the direction of increasing the allowances under the Workers' Compensation Act. That n Bid. to amend the Noxious Weeds Act is now in the hands of the law-drafting officers, and this, though not specially providing for the setting up of local boards, should have the effect of providing a more effective measure than the Act as it now stands. That the Board of Trade is inquiring into the prices charged for roofing iron, but the information received does not disclose that merchants are charging excessive prices. i That it has been decided by the Gov-' eminent that no subsidy shall bo granfed towards the erection' of any war memorial outside the national war memorial.
