IMMIGRATION CONFERENCE.

• NEW ZEALAND'S POSITION. (By Wire.—Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, Last Night. A cablegram from Geneva referring to an international conference on immigration was mentioned in the House of Representatives by Mr. Fraser (Wellington Central). The conference was being- called in accordance with a resolution of the International Labor Conference, said Mr. Fraser, and the Governments, employers, and worker? were represented. Canada and Austalia were among the countries that were sending delegates. Had any opportunity beeu given to New Zealand to appoint representatives of the Government, the employers, and the workers? The Prime Minister said that as far as he knew no communication regarding the conference had reached the New Zealand Government. It was possible that a communication had arrived and had not yet reached him. He would have inquiries made, since New Zealand, as a member of the League of Nations, was entitled to be informed of a conference of the kind.
