THE BATH'S SEASON.
OPENING HERE SHORTLY. The month of/ September started in New Plymouth "tinder auspicious circumstances as far as the weather was concerned, and the populace were able to revel in the bright sunshine yesterday. A prevailing breeze, however, bad a cold touch at times. The season at the New-Plymouth saltwater baths usually commences on September 1, but yesterday saw a departure from this rule as the premises are at present in course of thorough renovation. This work has been in hand for some time, but owing •to some of the materials not being available, and the unseasonable weather experienced, it has not been possible to complete the work. It may be anticipated, however, that the baths will be open in about ten days. There are a goodly number of regular patrons of the hot saltwater baths who ere no doubt awaiting news of the opening, but for habitues of the 9\vimmiug pool the weather as yet has not beon very enticing.
