TROUBLE SPREADING. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyrigbt. London, August ,31. A Mesopotamia. communique reports that in the Hillah area a column of the Thirty-fourth Brigade conducted punitive measures. In several localities north of Bagdad the country is becoming more disturbed. Samara is reported to be invested. North-east of Bagdad the garrison of Tuz Khermutli has been relieved. A small garrison drove off the enemy, killing 30. Bakubah station and town, which were sacked by insurgents, were retaken on Saturday. In north-west Persia, the Persian Cossacks are refitting at Menjil. The, Reds did not pursue them. 0«r reconnaissance reports no enemy within 20 miles of Menjil.
